Cynthia M. Hartung

Cynthia Hartung received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Kentucky in 1998. She completed a predoctoral internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center, a one-year clinical postdoctral fellowship at the Oregon Health Sciences University, and a three-year research postdoctoral fellowship that was jointly sponsored by the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and the University of Denver. Dr. Hartung has worked at the University of Wyoming since 2007 where she is currently an associate professor in the Department of Psychology. Prior to her appointment to the University of Wyoming, she was an assistant professor for five years at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hartung teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in abnormal child psychology, gender development, cognitive assessment, developmental psychopathology, and child, adolescent and family treatment. She also supervises doctoral student therapists in UW's Psychology Clinic, mentors graduate students in the department's APA-accredited clinical psychology Ph.D. program, conducts research on the assessment and treatment of disruptive behavior disorders, and trains parents and teachers in the use of behavioral management strategies training for the treatment of disruptive behavior disorders.
